i to i research’s commitment to corporate responsibility.

i to i research is committed to behaving with integrity and responsibility as a company, to our employees, our clients, our research partners, our respondents and to the wider community. Honesty is integral to our business as we seek to get the truth from our research and we believe that honesty, fairness and integrity should be apparent in every area of our business.

We also take an active part in the industry in which we operate and Claire Spencer (Chief Executive of i to i research), is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, as well as a member of Marketing Society, whilst Kay Johnson, one of our Research Consultants, is a Fellow of the IDM and also an MRS Member. Claire Spencer is also an adviser to the Prostate Cancer Charity.

This corporate responsibility document is given to every employee when they join i to i research and we make every effort to ensure that we, along with every other business with whom we work, behave according to the following positive values:

1. Fairness to all

i to i research is committed to a policy of equal opportunities for all and are determined to demonstrate equality and diversity.

i to i research treats everyone equally irrespective of sex, sexual orientation, marital status, age, disability, race, colour, religion, ethnic or national origin, membership or non-membership of a trade union, working hours or whether on a fixed term or permanent contract. We actively support organisations that have an equal determination to behave completely fairly to all and would not work for or with any organisation that did not uphold such standards.

2. Respecting the environment

i to i research has no manufacturing facilities and operates from very straightforward office premises. However, we are committed to making every possible effort to protect the environment and operate the following series of guidelines:

i to i research recognises the considerable environmental impact of waste and makes every effort to minimise waste, to maximise recycling and to use, wherever possible, materials which are less damaging to the environment. This includes:

i to i research is committed to doing whatever we can to minimise the amount of energy we use. Although, because of the nature of our business and the shape of our organisation, we are very limited in what we can do, we make every attempt to minimise heating and electricity usage and always choose energy efficient products – for example, all computer monitors are flat screen instead of CRT, as they are more energy efficient.

In addition to doing everything we can as a business, we will not work with any company that we deem to have an unacceptable environmental policy

i to i research is committed to supporting the wider community. We do this in a number of ways, getting involved in a variety of different projects, as well as actively supporting the following charities:

Our business fundamentally depends on the way in which we deal with our clients, their staff and their suppliers. We are very clear about the standards of behaviour required and we take our corporate image very seriously indeed. We are equally committed to understanding and operating according to the codes of practice our clients have in place, both on and off their premises.

We have never received a complaint from anyone as to the way in which any member of the i to i research team has behaved.

5. Making safety a priority

i to i research has a clear Health & Safety Policy, a copy of which is given to every employee. i to i research and its employees recognise their responsibility to minimise the risk of injury to anyone whilst at work. It is company policy to ensure that every effort is made to provide safe and healthy working conditions and to meet all the provisions of the Health and Safety at Work Act and amendments and supplements by European legislation.

We recognise the importance of proper ventilation, smoke alarms, security, ensuring all equipment is safe and well maintained, being proactive in all cases of potential illness, having first aid kits available and behaving at all times in a considered and thoughtful manner. In all probability, the greatest danger to our team and to others is travelling and we make every effort to avoid travelling with any time pressures on arrival.

6. Behaving with integrity

As our business involves understanding the inner workings or organisations, often including access to sensitive information, confidentiality is a fundamental part of the way in which we operate. This applies irrespective of whether or not a specific confidentiality contract is in place.

UK law
i to i research states unequivocally that everything we do, either ourselves or on behalf of our clients, is entirely in accordance with UK law or the law of any other country in which we might be working. Any transgression by an employee of i to i research would constitute a disciplinary matter and may result in dismissal. Equally, we will not work with any client who asks us to operate outside the law.
